Sparker

Overview

Powerful, safe, comfortable, and very spacious; these are the attributes that characterize the newest modern aircraft from the TL-ULTRALIGHT, s.r.o. the Sparker.

With Sparker, you'll have an elaborate and spacious cockpit. You’ll enjoy the look and feel that this modern design offers. Forget the pre-flight dilemma, with how much luggage you will be able to take. Sparker has the largest luggage compartment in the UL category. And because the compartment is accessible through exterior doors, it‘s convenient. As a result, you can sit back and enjoy your journey. That's why we created Sparker.

Sparker Story

When we were permitted to raise the MTOW in the UL category, we knew we had to create something special. Sparker is more than just a design recertified to a higher take off weight. Sparker has been completely designed from the ground up to accommodate this higher takeoff weight. Besides the additional load, you’ll also enjoy both comfort and performance. We set out to create a comfortable, spacious aircraft with ideal flight characteristics, and we accomplished our goals.

One old aviation truth says a plane flies as good as it looks. The Sparker takes that adage and makes it a reality.

She looks great and won't disappoint in the air. Through modern technology, we have created a versatile airframe that is both elegant and aerodynamically efficient. The result is large interior spaces for both crew and luggage.

Watching the Sparker fly you can feel the anticipation and adrenalin that piloting the aircraft will bring. In the air, she becomes a predator that excels in speed and agility. The view from the cabin is spectacular. Thanks to modern avionics and imaging capabilities, Sparker has expanded situational awareness. Just as a predator is aware of their environment, you'll be aware of yours with the Sparker.

 Characteristics:

  • 2 seats side by side
  • Electric flaps
  • Retractable undercarriage
  • Braked wheels of the main landing gear and steerable nose gear
  • Made of Kevlar and carbon fibers
  • 2 luggage compartments

Speeds:

  • Stall speed: 82 km / h (44 kts; 51 mph) - MTOW 600 kg
  • Never exceed speed: 335 km / h (181 kts; 208 mph)

Cockpit

Maximum crew comfort

The Sparker’s dashboard comes with the latest avionics. Everything is placed at the pilot‘s fingertips. An unbeatably large instrument panel includes three ten-inch displays. This large panel comes installed with versatile avionics equipment.

Ergonomically shaped heated leather seats guarantee the crew's comfort during long flights.

  • Amazing views from the cabin
  • Precise steering thanks to sidestick controls
  • Comfortable leather seats
  • Great ergonomics

The generous Sparker cockpit provides maximum comfort and unobstructed views, thanks to the clear arrangement of all elements.

Aircraft control

Sparker control is easy and absolutely accurate. Sidesticks with the control of transverse and longitudinal balance will provide you with the perfect control over the aircraft. You'll be convinced on your maiden flight when the Sparker meets all expectations.

  • Dual control
  • Modern concept with sidestick controls
  • Electrically adjustable pedals
  • Electrically operated flaps and trim

Let’s face it, the perception of an aircraft comes down to how it handles when you fly. You’ll be thrilled with how the Sparker delivers. Once you own a Sparker, you’ll be looking for any excuse to fly.

Avionics

Because we only wanted the best, the Sparker comes with the latest GARMIN avionics.

When you sit down in the Sparker, everything necessary is clearly arranged in front of you on a spacious instrument panel. This allows the installation of three, ten-inch G3X Touch displays. Thanks to these, every flight is comfortable and safe. Just a few touches, and you can set everything you need. GARMIN avionics are the best you can have, and they're in the Sparker cockpit.

GARMIN G3X Touch

Pilots of larger aircraft know the GARMIN system very well. GARMIN created the G3X Touch system, for LSA and Experimental aircraft. Thanks to this, we have the best, highest quality, and most reliable "glass cockpit." On touch, extremely bright screens with high resolution and excellent visibility in direct sunlight are available. You view or adjust everything you need with a few touches. There’s also a 3D display of the surrounding terrain, surrounding traffic and various maps. This is all thanks to the Garmin G3X Touch!

Design

The Sparker airframe is beautiful and safe, thanks to the use of the latest CAD / CAM technologies.

We took the utmost care to protect the crew. Carbon and Kevlar fibers guarantee the highest possible strength while at the same time providing low weight.

The inner part of the fuselage is formed by a Kevlar shell, which guarantees maximum strength in the crew compartment. This guarantees the highest level of safety.

Using modern production processes and technologies, Sparker production is fast, accurate and flawless.

Engine

The engine is the heart of the plane. That is why we equip the Sparker with a ROTAX engine. The ROTAX is tested, tried and true for thousands of flying hours.

Propellers can be fixed or adjustable. They come in  various types and configurations. The ideal choices are adjustable 3-bladed PowerMax or 2-bladed DuoMax propellers.

  • ROTAX 912 ULS

The Rotax 912 ULS is a four-cylinder, four-stroke engine, with liquid cooled cylinder heads and air-cooled cylinders. It has got a dry sump forced lubrication with a separate oil tank of 3 liters, automatic adjustment by hydraulic valve tappet, 2 carburetors with constant pressure in the diffuser, mechanical fuel pump, contactless electronic dual ignition with two circuits, electric starter and propeller speed reduction unit i = 2.43.

  • ROTAX 912 iS

The Rotax 912 iS was developed on the basis of the 100 hp Rotax 912 ULS engine. The main difference between 912iS and 912 ULS is substitution of carburetors for preparing mixture with dual, electronically operated fuel injection system. Other changes include oil pump reinforcement and increase in generator performance.

It is a four-cylinder, four-stroke engine with liquid-cooled cylinder heads, air-cooled cylinders, dry sump lubrication with a separate oil tank, automatic adjustment by hydraulic valve tappet, electronic dual fuel injection, electronic engine management (EMS), electric starter, propeller speed reduction unit and an engine suction system.

  • PowerMax Propeller

The PowerMax is a three-blade tractor in flight adjustable aircraft propeller. The aluminum alloy hub consists of top and bottom flange with lid. The blade adjustment mechanisms are located inside the hub. Increasing of the blade angle is done by the actuator. For the opposite direction, the blades are adjusted through the resistance of spring located inside the hub. The carbon fiber blade has got an aluminum alloy root part and is mounted onto the hub by a pair of axial bearings. The actuator is located outside the hub, above the engine reduction unit, and controls the blade adjustment by a hollow axis of the reduction unit and the propeller.
